Collaborator:  National Trust


The National Trust is a statutory body of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, set up under the “National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities” Act (Act 44 of 1999). The National Trust’s vision statement reflects a very changed India for all Indians and is based on a human right, i.e. UNCRPD, approach. Seva-in-Action(SiA) was the State Nodal Agency Centre (SNAC) of the National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), GOI for Karnataka from July 2010 to July 2017. During that time SiA implemented the schemes and programmes of the National Trust across Karnataka by collaborating with the other Registered Organisations & the Dept of Empowerment of Differently abled & Senior Citizens, Govt of Karnataka.

At present Seva-in-Action is continued as a Registered Organisation of the NT and implementing the following Schemes:
1. Vikaas (Day Care) Scheme SiA is running a Vikaas Day Care Centre with the support of National Trust for enhancing interpersonal and vocational skills of Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
2. NIRAMAYA (Health Insurance Scheme) SiA is also implementing NIRAMAYA (Health Insurance Scheme) in Karnataka for supporting families of persons with intellectual & developmental disabilities by enrolling and renewing of their ward’s Niramaya Health insurance policy.
